Dublin, Ohio
The Ram Dublin is in the city of Dublin, Ohio’s first licensed brewery. It was an ambitious project and called for the inclusion of a full service, family style restaurant, a sports bar, and the on-site brewery. The project itself was a retrofit of an existing building. The building floor plan presented significant elevation challenges and had to be carefully engineered to accommodate the final program. For the finished project, the interior bar was located on the primary level with an exterior patio facing into the bar and a dining area. The exterior patio had to be accessible from the dining area and needed to provide a view into the main bar when sitting at the counter. Elements like patio string lighting, direct access from the sidewalk and flexible seating spaces were incorporated, as well as the working silo anchored at the corner of the building. The brewery was located on the main level opposite the bar. The brewing production occurred on the main level as well, together with the mill and brew kettle, created a stage to watch the process of brewing beer, the bright tanks and kegs were positioned on the mezzanine, in cold rooms, and were visible from the bar adding a vibrant and relevant element to the entire experience. Throughout the public spaces, custom wall murals and embedded graphics were created to depict and celebrate various periods and events significant in Dublin’s history.
