“Clean Cars and Saving Our Precious Water Resources Too…….”
Pink Elephant car wash has become the iconic car wash of choice for many Seattle-ites and beyond! Since 1951 when the first location opened at 4th and Lander in downtown Seattle, Pink Elephant has been providing safe, hands-free car washing for the region. The Battery Street location is home to the world-famous rotating elephant! Since the sale of the original business in 1982, Pink Elephant has grown to include multiple locations in and around the state. Smith co is pleased to be part of this expansion with the most recent addition of Puyallup. This location is an example of the SmithCo evolved prototype incorporating new energy efficient and water saving technologies and featuring the three components of the site-specific business: Car Wash Tunnel, Automatic Bays, and Vacuum Stations. Our work with Pink Elephant includes the design of these features as well as Site Planning, Vehicle Circulation and designing a NW theme that updates the conventional carwash look. We are proud to work with a client who values and works to preserve the environment. In 1994, Pink Elephant became the founding member of the PSCWA (Puget Sound Car Wash Association), to protect streams, lakes, and the Puget Sound from pollution caused by unregulated cars washing. The technologies we design and employ for Pink Elephant help to insure not only a clean car, but clean, safe waterways for generations to come.
